Our story
During several extended stays in Mauritius since 2022, I discovered the immense need in Mauritius to make the coexistence of humans and animals safer, more harmonious and more sustainable. Due to an estimated 300,000 strays, the safety of the population is sometimes seriously endangered, or the lives of the strays are at great risk from accidents, abuse, ‘disposal’ or poisoning.
Instead of ‘just’ donating or signing petitions, I wanted to use my own commitment to offer a wide range of opportunities to bring humans and animals closer together.
There are many people in Mauritius who care for their animals in an exemplary manner, even though they themselves have little to live on. However, a large part of the population still lacks awareness of responsible animal husbandry and species-appropriate care. This is exactly where I want to educate, support and inspire with my heart, knowledge and energy.
Through professional services and dedicated educational work, I aim to raise awareness of respectful and responsible treatment of animals.
I am convinced that animals should be treated and respected as family members, as they have the same needs as us for food, safety, attention and love.
These thoughts and the motivation to help people and animals directly on site led to the creation of Ginkgolive Ltd. at the end of 2025.
